Tate Casey, Esq.

Tate Casey, Esq.

Senior Associate

Tate Casey has spent over a decade doing one thing well: standing up for regular people against powerful organizations that expect them to back down. Now, as a Senior Associate at LS Carlson Law's Orange County office, he brings that same fight to homeowners facing HOA disputes.

Before focusing on HOA litigation, Tate built his career in consumer protection, real estate disputes, and contract litigation—always on the side of individuals, never corporations. That background shapes how he approaches every case: he understands what it feels like to be outmatched on paper, and he knows how to level the playing field.

Tate has extensive litigation experience and has practiced in courts throughout California, including Federal and Superior Court. He's comfortable in the courtroom and prepared to go there when it creates leverage—but he also knows that smart strategy often resolves disputes without prolonged conflict. His approach is practical: understand the homeowner's goals, build the strongest possible case, and push for results.

When he's not working, Tate spends his time backpacking California's trails, playing basketball in his local YMCA league, and making music.

I had a consultation with Tate Casey. I consulted him for legal advice about my HOA board breaching our governing documents and other things. He gave me clear directions on what I should do next and explained that I should only take legal action if it's my only choice. He was eager to help me in my situation. I would choose to work with him if my issue doesn't resolve on its own.

I had a mortgage loan dispute and had hired an attorney who completely dropped the ball on my case and it was just a few weeks away from being dismissed due to their negligence. It was very difficult to find a firm who handles this type of law. I came across LS Carlson, spoke with a partner Ryan who had experience with this type and law and assigned my case to some fantastic attorneys, Larissa , Tate and their team. They not only had to save my case, but they had to re-work and re-submit new complaints that actually held water. Within just a few months we agreed on a settlement after almost two years of going absolutely no where with the previous attorney. They saved our case, restored our faith and saved us so much time. I hope we never have to be in a legal dispute in the future, but if we do I would hire them in a heartbeat! Thank you Ryan, Larissa and Tate!

I had a consultation with Tate Casey regarding a dispute with my HOA, and I was thoroughly impressed. He was knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely attentive to my concerns. What stood out the most was that he focused on answering my questions clearly and thoroughly—without trying to push or sell his services. I left the consultation feeling more informed and confident about my next steps. Highly recommend if you’re looking for honest, straightforward legal guidance.

I had the pleasure of working with Tate Casey to help my aunt resolve a sensitive issue with the Laguna Woods HOA. From the start, Tate stood out for his expertise, professionalism, and genuine warmth. HOA disputes can be emotionally charged and difficult to navigate, but Tate brought a sense of clarity and calm that made the process far less stressful for my aunt. What impressed me most was how quickly Tate understood the unique cultural context of our situation. As Circassians, our community has a rich tradition of dance, music, and celebration. We’ve used the Laguna Woods clubhouses to hold dance practices and gatherings that are central to maintaining our identity and passing it down to younger generations. Tate not only grasped this immediately, but he also found the right tone and language to convey our story respectfully and persuasively during an HOA hearing. Tate has a presence that naturally draws attention. When he speaks, people listen. His calm confidence, paired with a warm but authoritative voice, makes him a powerful advocate. He approached the case with sensitivity and empathy, which meant a lot to my aunt and our family. He didn’t just see a legal issue, he saw people behind it and made sure that was reflected in every step he took on our behalf. Tate is really the whole package.
